... their phones were turned off. Argh. Were we going? I thought maybe it was off. I went for breakfast. Got back to my room and felt a sudden need to pack and go. I knew roughly where they would be. I set off up to the main road to get a ride. I walked back and forth. No jeeps loaded anywhere. Thought, ok, maybe a bus ? One whipped by. A few minutes later another whipped by. Damn. I can’t read the signs on the bus anyways, how the h.... am I supposed to know where they are going? ...
... had the original ceiling fans that the British installed when it was built, in 1891. It is a vertical plane of fabric hanging from the ceiling by ropes. It had another rope tied perpendicularly to the fans. This rope went through the wall into the other room where an Indian would continually pull at. Enough said! ... Diwali and off to bed I go - to skype my other half :)
The house opposite the guesthouse - then decides to have there own crazy fire work display which goes on for another 20 - 30 mins of loud bangs and lots of lights.
And now I am safe and sound - tucked in my bed - have spoken to my bear, who is sounding slightly better than yesterday and its only 11pm.
Right ready for yoga tomorrow morning - bring it on!
... In the evening, we had a Puja ceremony and everyone gets a bindi and red string on their wrist. Was really quite beautiful with all the chanting. There are 40ppl from all over the world in my group…Australia, Vietnam, Finland… Lots of people who quit there jobs and sold everything, a couple who are here for some spiritual enlightenment, some who are “trying to find themselves” and some who just LOVE ...
