    ... are spacious and beautifully landscaped with native cactus, desert plants and river rocks. The pool, hot tub, laundry, and club house are all exceptional. I guess you get what you pay for. Staying here for a short while won't break the bank, as long as we stay out of the casino and Mike stays away from the golf course! (18 holes for $165.00, thank you very much.)

    ... 451 miles. I didn't mind as the topography of the U.S. and Mexico in this part of North America is quite different from where I live and I enjoy a scenic drive. There was bad weather predicted for Phoenix today and we were out of the city before the rain.

    Our first stop was Tuscon, Arizona at a Courtyard Marriott to pick up two more travelers for the tour. The tour has an option to be picked up in Tuscon on Day 2.

    This morning we awoke early as Mike had an appointment with a helicopter. He went on a flight over the Grand Canyon. While we waited for him, we went to the Visitor Centre in Tusayan and watched an IMAX movie of the Grand Canyon.
