A travel blog entry by reevefamily on Sep 18, 2014

... Ramblers Texaco, Dwight, next to Old Route 66 Family Restaurant), restaurants and museums, the best being in the gorgeous town on Pontiac. This town didnt even have R66 originally run through it, but they town has embraced the excitement of the old road, provides the museum free of charge and around the lovely town centre they have R66 murals and artifacts for all to enjoy. Progress is slow at the moment because every time we ask an American a question they just want to talk, and how they can talk!!! Nice though . Visited the war museum and the Route 66 museum at Pontiac, really interesting. The bike really uses lots of fuel, only did 100 miles and needed to refill it, it cost an outstanding $7 ...

Happy birthday to my love and my favorite clown, John! We celebrated after the show with wine, junk food, and four episodes of "Girls". A very lovely day which would have only been lovelier if we could have spent it with friends and family back home. But everyone sent John wonderful birthday greetings throughout the entire day, so I know we weren't far from people's thoughts. :)
