We had intended to take a slow coastal route but opted for the quicker inland route. Heading WESTWARD on Highway 10 then back to the coast to Miramar Beach near Destin. We are definitely on our way home!! Now on Central Time only 2 more time zone changes to the West.

Our next destination was New Orleans & luckily we had the TV on that night & heard about a weather ...

... it! It's called the Mexican Ranch!" He told us how to get there and went on his way. We arrived at sunset, to beautiful green fields full of cattle. Him and his wife greeted us and gave us ice cold Gatorade which was greatly appreciated. Eddie told us the ACA (Adventure Cycling Association) had stayed with them the night before. That got us pretty excited and in the coming days we kept our eyes peeled for them. In the morning Eddie's wife told us ...

... oyster bar, shroom chocolate party favors (neither of us knew about these till after we left), and everyone in costume. However, in the movies everyone looks like they are having the time of their life. It wasn't not fun, but maybe just not our scene... I think there just wasn't enough dancing. Unlike the rest of the city that night, we ended up going to bed at a reasonable hour.

The next morning, we met up with Aubry and Thomas. We were all moving slow and curled up under ...
