Nice stop on our trip
My husband, son, and I enjoyed our stay here after a long day of driving. It was quiet, roomy, and nicely decorated. Restaurants were close by; we walked to Cracker Barrrel next door. The room was spotless. We thought it was great value for the money. We would stop here again.
Nice Hotel, Staff Could be Friendlier
We stayed here on our honeymoon. This is a nice hotel, good-sized rooms, nice decor. The staff, however, could be much friendlier and smile occasionally. Also, there is only one washing machine on the premises, not a good idea to do your laundry here! We would visit again, and hope to have friendlier help.
This was an unexpected stop, but we were glad we chose this particalur hotel, as there were several together at this exit. The kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool and the decor was lovely, the place seemed clean and the staff was helpful. The only drawback was the AC was the type to kick off and on sort of loudly. But all things considered, it was a great value and a nice place.
Nice hotel - - typical of Country Inns
This hotel was as nice as all the other Country Inns I've stayed at - - it's a good chain.
Our suite was very comfortable with two double beds in the bedroom and a living room (not separated by door) with a sofabed. The complimentary breakfast was a good start to the day.
We didn't use the pool or many other facilities, but it all looked pleasant.
The only thing that kept me from rating this hotel as excellent was our trouble upon checkin. After travelling for 12 hours, that's the last trouble you want. It took us 3 tries to get into a room due to a 'clerical error'. One set of keys we were given let us into an already occupied room! Good thing we weren't thieves!
A long soak in a hot tub....
The country inn and suites in beckley west virginia far exceeded my expectations for a little hotel along I64. The place is beautiful and the room I stayed in had a whirlpool tub which after driving 18 hours was a welcome relief for sore back muscles. They also have a really interesting shower - it has 2 showerheads each at the opposite end of the shower ( which is big enough for 2) lots of really nice hot water and you are all set for an incredibly relaxing stay.
This hotel has alot of amenities I read about them in the nice book they provide for you from the comfort of the nice big whirlpool that is in the bedroom. - I definately recommend spending the extra $20 to get the whirlpool suite. I didnt leave the room to explore any of the amenities but as an added bonus if you wander down the tiny hill in the back you are in the cracker barrel restaurant--- which is a great place for dinner cheap.!!!.
Most welcoming, great swim through to outside pool
stayed here c family of 4, second week of march, 05.
most welcoming: complimentary breakfast, apples and cookies at front desk , loan library of books, you can take c you, or return, nice room, welcoming rocking chairs on the veranda , in the front
great pool indoor, with swim through to outdoor section, and separate hot tub outdoors also. after a 10 hour drive, this boosted our spirits.
staff was great, especially David at front desk.
most welcoming hotel I have ever stayed at.
We arrived here after a full day of driving only to find out there was a problem with our reservation. The management was very helpful and corrected the problem then made sure we were satisfied with our rooms. Very nice place and nice people. We will stay here again.
A huge whirlpool right in the room!
I was driving on a road trip and pulled into the Country Inn and Suites at 11 pm and asked if they had any rooms left (the parking lot was pretty full for a Tuesday night!). They offered me a celebration suite for $90 (AAA rate). (They also offered another more standard room for $87 but I took the suite.) The suite was basically a large hotel room with a huge whirlpool in the room itself (see picture on their website). What a treat after a long day driving! I was concerned that I would run out of hot water before the tub was full because it was so large so I filled it mostly with just the hot water turned on -- don't do that -- it took me a long time to get the water cooled down enough to get in! My room was clean, quiet, had a decent bed, and a double shower (in the bathroom). The complimentary breakfast was quite satisfying. The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. I had some food I needed refrigerated and they took care of that for me since my suite did not have its own fridge. I was sorry that I had to leave before taking a swim in their rather large indoor/outdoor pool.
Wonderful stay in a moderate city!
The Country Inn and Suites in Beckley,West Virginia was extravigant!
Me and my Mom and Dad stayed here one night in the Summer when we went to the city pool and waterslide.
We had a small black puppy that they welcomed with open arms and without complaints.
The lobby is fantastic, the rooms are huge and very very very very clean, there was a coffee maker and complimentary coffee and creamer and sugar, the hallways were spacious and there was the most beautiful carpet you ever seen!
The pool and spa area was magnificent! The pool and spas were indoor AND outdoor and were humongous. There was also magnificent decorations, music, and lovely plants throughout the entire resort!
I would recomment this resort to anyone, anytime!
Clean and comfortable
We booked this hotel as our mid-point stop on our journey back home from Florida based upon another review. The hotel is far enough from the Interstate so that you do not hear the traffic continously all night. Nice spacious rooms, there were 5 of us in the room and still had plenty of room. Good for families.

Pretty uneventful drive up to Beckley Leaves are just beginning to change color up here in the mountains. We are all excited to pick up Sandy and get going.
... turned out they were still running a double-header--two 7-inning games--which would have to go until at least midnight. We were not on for that deal, especially when it turned out that there was some guy in h is 60's or early 70's there who bellowed at every pitch, between pitches, between innings and pretty much continuously. Most of what he was bellowing was incomprehensible, but he seemed to want every Blue Jays batter to hit a homerun and ...
... up after dinner. I'm on a streak--19 straight days finding a cache. I'm hoping to extend that to the last day of summer, so an easy and early West Virginia find is quite helpful.
And that was about it for today! We're up early tomorrow--we have to meet the ATV folks by 8:30 at the trail head, about 45 minutes from here. Will try to get some photos of us soaking wet on ATVs--should be rather entertaining!
... could not participate fully due to cramps :/ worse thing ever... not being able to climb on a trip that was supposed to be flawless.. Its okay though, I gathered enough composure to crush a 10! On top rope...but still! It was fun.
We finished up and headed to the famous Pies and Pints, The local pizza joint with delicious grape pizza. We all shared a couple pies and a few pints with Fox and his friends before going back to camp. It was still raining so ...
