... great place to get homemade pie. This is where I met my new friend, Barb. She served me pie! Palisade is a population of 167, Crazy small. The Palisade Cafe was a tiny little dive on the GRR. I walk into the cafe and Barb is sitting there reading the paper. I asked if I could get lunch and she couldn't get up quick enough and say, "You betcha'!" ... Here we stopped for a minute at the river to take a photo and test the waters. Kids were playing in the beach on one side of us while others were launching their boats for some water fun. All very idyllic. At the entrance of the town, there was a bronze statue of Indians playing lacrosse. The town was named by a Lt.
