... number 2 I didn't find the course map until after finishing Number 9. I continued to drive in an occasional rain. Arrived in Little Falls to spend the night at Walmart. Started to rain steady about 4 pm. Not much for sights or stops, just a day for the highway.

... couldn't get over the fact that I'm from DC. They made me sign the guest book and gave me a few places to see while in Bemidji. One of those places, Bemidji Woolen Mills, was perfect. They spin their own yarn from local wool and I'm collecting a thing of yarn from each state on my trip to make an afghan with when I get back. Got my yarn and off down the GRR again. This was almost a 500 mile "Day Trip" but it was a beautiful drive, especially since they had a good snow fall last night!! Plus we needed a distraction today after the kids left!!

Around 4pm i decided the storm was almost over and took a walk downtown. Vendors from the annual Craft Sale were loading up their vehicles after being washed out today. Downtown was like most small towns but had some variety and not just Pawn and Liquor shops. Took a few pics nothing exciting but good to get out.

Weather report: Cloudy at times, Start temp 24C, end Temp 30C (nice riding weather)
Well the first thing I learned was that the 'detailed' map i have of the Great River Road is not very detailed. It only shows major roads but not the roads that connect them together. I did not get lost but I went the wrong way a couple of times and had to use my GPS to get me back on track. The route is well signed except in a few places and of course I found those ...
