... reading a biography of Napoleon in which the Paris suburb of St. Cloud was mentioned as Napoleon's summer residence. St. Cloud is also on the Mississippi River. We stayed at the Hotel Saint Germaine in the historical district and took a walking tour of the area. The hotel was older and almost empty. It needed a face lift but was a welcome change from motels.
