... over a century, nothing was said of the over 100 American Indian men, women, and children who had died fighting in defense of their families, land, and traditional way of life. Their nations had signed a treaty with the United States government, promising them their lands in perpetuity. Sadly, "perpetuity" lasted only until the first gold was discovered.

Finally, in 1991, the U.S. Congress changed the ...

... 6 or 9 ounce bacon wrapped fillet with potato, salad and bread or a vegetarian potato dish. We all chose the fillet and it was delicious. The cost $11.99. You can't get that price in South Carolina!!! We returned to Mystery Mountain campground for our last night and tomorrow morning we will pull out for Sheridan, Wyoming. South Dakota, the Black Hills and the Badlands have been more than we could have ever dreamed. Thanks for the ...

... from the bear trying to get to them. Knight rider left me to walk alone around the tower, and because it was an extremely quiet day, I had the pleasure of a really peaceful hike, felt like a private viewing just for me! I went to the geographical centre of the nation which was sweet, too. Feels too far west to be the middle but apparently it is! Also went through spearfish canyon, it was ******* down with snow so looked even more picturesque than ...

... Saskatchewan and parts of Alberta with an added feeling that there was nobody around. Hundreds of thousands of acres, some obviously cultivated and others not, very few buildings in view. We crossed two Indian Reservations, one of them the Crow which covers 1,400,000 acres and includes the land of the Battle of the Bighorn (Custer's last stand) and the other the Cheyenne covering 400,000 acres. We drove over two hours through land where often you could ...

... the Black hills. What was a flat floodplain is no longer as the Cheyenne river, capturing smaller tributaries from the Black hills erodes and erodes the formations carving and molding and ever changing their shapes. Erosion can be so beautiful sometimes, this is definitely a prime example. We drove through the park late in the day and early the next morning, both offered different light and different moods—but the ...

    Another nice place

Our family of four stayed in mid-July. We had a one bedroom suite, which we really like. The place was busy. The pool had lots of people. They have a big water slide that was the attraction. Our kids were too small to enjoy it.

The room was pricey, but we stayed there didn't we.

    Very Good Hotel

Very convenient to the interstate - but not too close.

Rooms were big and clean. Staff was friendly really helped

make our trip to SD a pleasant experience. The pool and

waterslide are great for the kids, the breakfast was good and

    Wonderful place

Stayed here over Easter break, 2005. Indoor pool with a slide that went into over 5 foot water. The best breakfast we had our whole nine day trip. Rooms were clean and the staff very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

    Good but not great

We had a two night stay in May 2005. The hotel is in a reasonable location near the main highways with a reasonable amount of parking space.

    Would stay here again

A good stay at a great internet special rate.

The kids loved the waterslide. Breakfast had something for everyone. We would stay there again.

    Terrible stay

I am sorry, but my stay was not very pleasant. To start out, there was hair found in my sheets. Also, loud noises kept me awake through the night. Service also not very helpful. Breakfast does not even compare to Rapid City Hampton Inn. Will not be staying here again.

    Love the water slide!

We stayed in seven hotels on our vacation, and this was my children's favorite hotel because of the water slide at the pool. My husband and I think the Country Inn and Suites is the nicest hotel chain, and this particular hotel is extra nice because of the 100 foot water slide at the pool. Our toilet was making noise, and the maintenance fixed it in a very timely manner. We love the suites here. I would definitely stay there again, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Black Hills Badlands Great Fun

At least once in a lifetime you should go to the Badlands. Take your time and explore. Then head for the Black Hills. Get off the main road I-90. Get away from the multiple tourist traps and hike a trail, ride a bike. We stayed in Rapid City at Country Inns and Suites.. always a consintant good hotel. A surprise in Deadwood was the Ammerinn Cadillac Jacks, great rooms and service but eat downtown, you can walk there or ride the trolly. Take a trip through Spearfish Canyon it is a lovely place. We stayed also in Custer State Park Resorts had a cabin at Sylvan Lake which was very nice. Saw wild life and relaxed. Great trip. Plan early. Take your time there and do see the 4 guys on the hill and thier friend being carved on the next hill over . Good programs at both.

    Great jacuzzi suite

We stayed here after it first opened. Very comfortable, with a great jazuzzi suite that was very roomy. Would definetely stay here again.

    Great hotel!

My family and I stayed here in August, 2002. This is a wonderful hotel for a family. There is a great pool with a waterslide that is ideal for kids about 5 and up who can swim. The pool is open until 11 pm, which is great if you have been out sightseeing. There are 2 hot tubs, also. The only problem with the pool when we were there was the chlorine was very strong.

They have a really good breakfast buffet, which is a step abouve the usual continental breakfast. each day, they served eggs and sausage gravy with biscuits along with the usual cereal, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc, and many beverages.

We would definitely stay here again.
