What a wonderful stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Rapid City. From the minute we walked in and registered the ladies at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. We were on the 4th floor and had a whirlpool room. I reserved this room since we were going to be on a motorcycle everyday. It was wonderful to come in after a long day and relax a huge whirlpool tub. The room was clean and spaced out very well. It was quiet and we did not hear people walking through the hallways or banging of doors. Every day we had fresh linen and the room was cleaned up. We ate breakfast in the dining room every morning. The coffee was excellent. It was your typical hotel breakfast, but it was hot and good and had plenty to choose from. They had yogurt and fruit to pick from also. There was a TGI Friday's next door and you received a 15% discount from the hotel. It was good. I would recommend this hotel again.

We also made a decision to rent a car for the next few days so we can get around a bit easier. The deciding factor was that our rig wouldn't fit through a few tunnels that cut through in Custer State ...

*In September there are about 1400 in the herd. CSP doesn't want to go into the winter with more than 1000, so they auction off the excess bison. Ranchers come from every state in the US to buy the bison, except from Alaska, ...

... we both looked at it and thought we would be murdered over night if we stayed in this town, so we decided to keep driving haha. Another hour goes by and we’re getting deliriously tired, making stupid jokes in the car, whinging and complaining and we come across a town called “Lusk”. So once again, we pull of the highway in hope of finding a campground. To our delight, we see a sign and pull into it, however we notice there are only ...

... pm. We were lucky to be near the Caio Restaurant with delicious Italian food. The Glenn Miller Orchestra and vocalists entertained us to the Glenn Miller sounds of the 1940's for the next three hours. It was delightful! We noticed a dance floor nearby and sure enough, a dance group showed us how to cut a rug. Eventually couples from the audience also joined the dancing. Later that night we were in for another rain ...

... up its essence; then the sizzle, pop and blackening as the flames licked its hide. Warm hotdog buns, ketchup and a couple more beers and I felt happy and mildly pregnant. Kendall has now become a fan of the Roseanne show, as all people should be. That's playing continuously as I read books; tomorrow we pick up Jody Kelley and head into Deadwood. Looking forward to both.
