    We made it! Over 44,500 miles and thirty countries in 254 days. So, many thanks to those who were so encouraging and to those whose expertise and experience helped us get ready. And thank you to everyone who was so generous in giving us a comfortable bed and a home cooked meal. And thanks for allowing me to share the trip with you. It added a new dimension to the odyssey.

    ... entrants had to cook 10 gallons of Gumbo. They were then judged by a panel and
    afterwards all of the culinary delights were on sale to the public.

    took advantage of purchasing a few tickets and sampled some of the food. It was overall very tasty, I could certainly

    ... along the river. When we got into the water it was freezing. A guy had mentioned to us that it was probably around 71 degrees (f) I'm the springs but most likely 10 or so degrees warmer in the river. And were we glad for the increase in temperature when we hit the river.
