... for your gift of this opportunity.

These thoughts of gratitude for all of those above (as well as the support of friends including, but not limited to, Melanie, Heidi, Michelle, Melissa, Amy and more!) rushed to the surface of my consciousness when I read Jessica's note this morning. Her thoughtfulness showed me how a simple token of support and love, plus the acknowledgement of ...

Drove to Story City, Iowa today. The weather was not good today, in fact we drove through pour down rain for about 1 1/2 hrs as we passed through Kansas City and northward. The campground was wet from all the rain and not as pretty as it was the last time we stayed here 4 years ago. Smokey hasn't been sleeping well and has been crying during the night. I guess it is too much going on for him. Needless to say, we haven't been sleeping too ...

    Kickstands Up!

... once we reached western Iowa. Plenty of rolling hills and great scenery. We also stopped in the Loess Hills Visitor's Center and talked to a nice old lady behind the front desk, who seemed thrilled just to have visitors.

Lunch included the “Old Home Fill-er Up and Keep on Trucking Cafe” in the metropilos of Pisgah, Iowa (population 245) made famous by a C.W. McCall song. I had to look up the song, but the prime rib sandwich was the real ...
