over the street, in no hurry to get out of our way. Balconies of
drunk men on one side calling across to drunk women on a balcony on

... an easy drive from Memphis, with time for a diversion or two. I jumped off the interstate highway early, to the consternation of GPS Lady, and followed a rural highway south through fields of cotton, soybeans, sorghum, and corn, heading for Louisiana Purchase State Park. Here, in 1815, two parties of engineers, one moving north and the other west, established the initial point from which all other surveys of the ...

... a beautiful forest on a lakeside. Had ramen noodles and ham salad sandwiches for dinner. Dreaming of last night's gumbo :-) I can hear all of the frogs and insects which is like music to my ears after the hustle and bustle of traffic. Camp site is set up differently here, appeared nicer with a place that seems clearer and less earthy for tent set-up, but then discovered that the bathrooms were out of order, so had to walk 10 mins to get to the next one. ...
