... the Packer pre-season game tonight. Well with all the rain and with darkness descending, I chose safety over Packer loyalty and stopped in Austin, Minnesota, where we were treated to watching the Minnesota college game at the sports bar restaurant in the hotel. I wouldn't have minded eating a bad pizza so much if we could have had any other sport to watch, even tennis, but no, every TV was tuned to Minnesota College Football.

Well we have made it back into the land of humidity and corn fields! Today we drove to a midway point for us and stopped at a KOA near Hayward. This was a much older campground and truly surrounded by corn fields! We made some dinner on the grill ...

Anyway, we enjoyed a quiet and cool night together and are well rested. On tap for today is the highly anticipated Spam museum and then we have to hit the road again.

Leaving Kellogg, Iowa, we sadly lost our dash a/c and had to sweat it out 100 miles from Forest City. But arrive we did and stopped off at the local Ford dealership to get the parts ordered. Marcus, the service manager couldn't believe our luck as the compressor had seized up but the pulley kept turning which avoided being stranded on the side of the road with nothing in sight but corn stalks. ...
