      Reality Bites!

... death warmed over on my first day back was a very unpleasant experience. Nothing like a good dose of exhaustion & confusion to get the day rolling. Add to that daylight savings time a few days later and it has been quite the adjustment back. Thankfully I am feeling fairly alert and human again. And I am happy to report that the long, hard process of Shutterfly scrapbooks is well under ...

      The Eagle Has Landed

In a word, the flight back sucked! Leaving Melbourne at 11:00am meant no chance of sleeping between there and LAX. We both dozed a bit, but that was about all. Once we landed, that was a whole nother level of suckiness! More long customs lines that lead to about a mile or more hike around the airport terminals. Completely ridiculous that there wasn't a shuttle bus in sight. And there was ...

After what felt like days, but was closer to an hour and a half, we did finally make it through...only to have Brenda get yelled at for not going through the express line because she does have the fancy chipped passport. Oops! But YAY...we finally had train tickets out of the airport and had officially arrived in ...

I have been home from my trip for almost a week. The journey back went smoothly. I woke up on Sunday at 4 am and took a quick shower. My bag was already packed from the night before. I lugged my suitcase down all 77 steps of Lora's apartment (better than lugging it up!) and walked to the train station, where I hopped on the 4:51 leg to the airport. Once there, I checked in and had plenty of time, so I bought more chocolate. I had more euros, so I figure I might as well put it ...

One final marathon planning session later, and me thinks we finally have everything we were hoping to be pre-booked all set in stone! The important thing being that visas are all official, so we can now legally get into Australia! Whew!! Now if they won't let me leave, who am I to argue with that? I kid...or do I?! And we are really coming down to the home stretch now...single digits, only 9 days away, and being able to say we are leaving ...
