... that spectacular and that it completely ruins the view of the church). Turns out that the boards which covered the elevator shafts had either slipped or given way, and a worker had taken a tumble down the elevator shaft. The height is only a first floor height, but given the area there is quite likely to be at least one basement level.
We watched for a little while before heading off for lunch, but just before I left Dresden (3 hours ...
Hey my dear friends, after my placement in Munich, I went to my parents' house to enjoy my free time and to get some rest. I have been here 2 weeks already and its definitely time to move on. I will go back to Breda, Holland by bus tomorrow. It will take me about 14 h !! so wish me lots of fun ...
Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Saxony, Germany magicwoman82... as the smoke works its way downwind. Chemnitz is reminiscent of Stockport with its brick chimneys. There is a lot of forest at the side of the railway. Mainly of tall thin trees that look like you could push them over. They blow in the wind and their silvery leaves flash, as their pale, flaky trunks lean over. Where they are really exposed - the odd tree on its own - the leaves are aligned in the direction of the wind, like hair being brushed.
glauchau, Germany jeremyhill... afraid to talk about it in case it was a trick. Even after the wall was totalled, people still didn't believe it. Must have been quite a shock
On one day we crossed over the czech border and have a Chinese meal of all things, and some duty free goodies. Also had a look at some of their ski resorts, and nearly got blown off the top of one the lookouts. The weather is starting to turn back into Canberra weather, but we've had a pretty good run nonetheless.
... to be quicker then what I'm used to in Canada. As Hilly came out of the car she threw me this little orange pouch and said put this on its the law. I opened the little pouch and it was a bright orange vest. Oh ****, now I'm stuck in the middle of god know where Germany wearing an Orange safetly vest, thinking that I was now screwed when it comes to my train. Oh **** my train I thought, now what. I was stuck in remember the name of the city ...
Zwickau, Saxony, Germany mike81In my white lab coat.............. It was really interesting to examine and take apart people and learn about the functions of the human body. I didn't care for the smell too much, it started to get too much after 30 minutes, but it was a cool experience.
Freiberg, Germany johanna85... night except for the time I walked in on him naked! Then took a boat trip down the Rhine for two days, staying in St Goar overnight. It was really beautiful, got some great photos. Last night was in Heidelberg, then today in Freiburg. Caught the cable car up to a mountain somewhere in the Black Forest, then walked down. Good to do some exercise and burn off all the beer and ice cream! Haven't found a computer I can upload photos on yet but I'm working on it!
Freiberg, Saxony, Germany susb... unale läksime Freibergi linnas asuvasse Döner Kebabi. Seal sõime Saksamaa türklaste valmistatud maitsvat kebabi. Pärastlõunal alustasime sõitu Hermsdorf'i marmorikaevanduse poole, mis kuulub firmale GEOMIN.
Freiberg, Saxony, Germany veikokWe went through Germany to see where Bryan used to live and to visit one of his favorite breweries. We had dinner at the Gasthaus - traditional schnitzel and spetzel. Great beer and wonderful hospitality. Bryan had to get a rack of beer to take back with us, of course.
Lengenfeld, Saxony, Germany pucketts... I take the random scolding to heart too- though even google just gives a load of other blog sites with people asking why the bloody hell Leipzig is inside out.] There didn´t seem to be much nightlife, so I passed some time in an internet cafe before heading for bed. The next day I left early and managed to navigate away from Leipzig in one attempt- maybe I´m getting the hang of this map-reading thing. I was quite excited about my destination for the day ...
