The regular need for washroom stops, more cold water and even gas for our thirsty truck, force us to backtrack more than once before we make our way safely to the Coachella Valley and our new home in Palm Springs. We had a lot tucked I to 48 hours. Sam missed on her just plain so we will have to come back. The canyon was amazing but will definitely not ever book a rafting race. Nightlife in the old part of the strip was so alive and just everything was great. Need more ...

Fortunately I bumped into the first of only 9 people I saw all day and this PCT hiker had just come down from the peak and gave me the good news (accompanied with a Homer Simpson style phhtttt) that the snow on the track was easily passable; and it was so why the ranger office was scaring things up I have no idea.
