We got back on the bus at 7:45am for the penultimate time on our way for our last night in Carpinteria. To be honest its quite a while ago now as ive been pretty slack over the last month keeping the blog but we stopped off at a beach on the way at Santa Barbara for a few hours before getting into Carpinteria at 6pm. We had dinner in the bar all together and had some quiet drinks whilst reminiscing the past weeks events ...
Carpinteria, California, United States edwardallin... behold, out steps the incredible Pierce Brosnan!! We pumped petrol behind Pierce Brosnan!!!
He looks every bit as imposing in person, although slightly rougher at the edges and not as well dressed. Unfortunately, we are just too Swiss, so we did not approach him for a photo. Such idiots!! I felt so embarassed, even stealing a few pictures from the distance of our car! But of course I regretted it afterwards and am still kicking myself for not asking for a photo :-(

... day in Seaside, just because we need a break from all of this constant moving around from one place to the next. We take some time to wash our clothes at the local Laundromat, which is always a relief, and we take some time to blog. Somehow the day goes by in a flash and nothing seems to get done - it's a bit like a Sunday really, although the days blend into each other now that we're on the road. We have dinner at the Black Bear Diner, which is a really nice place that has ...
Malibu, California, United States benleahWe went out today toward Santa Monica and decided to continue our drive out to Malibu. We drove up the Pacific Coast Highway for a while and checked out the houses etc at Malibu. We stopped at a place where the tourism building us and also where they do their little league. The tourism building was named "Michael Landon". Was very windy at Malibu, hard to close the car doors when the wind was pulling at them and we struggled to walk back into the wind. Wasn't hard to imagine how bad the ...
Malibu, California, United States woolfiestrip... Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom. Jan 4-6: LAX to Bangkok. With a 15 hour time change and a 21 hour flight from LAX to Taipei to Bangkok, the first portion of our journey will be as prisoners in "lock down" inside our aircraft. We'll fly to Taipei for a change of planes - and hopefully a change in crew. :-) Jan 6: Bangkok, Thailand will be the first stop of our journey. We plan to be here for 4 days to explore this ...
Port Hueneme, California, United States george-heather... the map for some destinations through the Rockies and Canada. We called in and had a laugh with the Elephant seal community on the way to Moro Bay which was cold and wet so we kept heading south on the 1 to Lompoc, near Vandenberg Air Force Base where we found a County park to camp. The County and State parks are generally cheaper with more room for the kids to play so we aim for these, only staying at ...

DC has a lot of great monuments and museums, many of which I still need to see (you can see my first travelogue for monument pics). However, I did get to spend some time in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. It's said that if you tried to view every piece in all the Smithsonian Museums for one minute each, the feat would take over 50 years. Given I was only dealing with a half-day, I decided to focus on the ...
... as we crossed the entrance hall, suffice to say we must have picked the only trolley that had contracted Polio earlier in life and not been weeded out. Looking as nonchalant as we could look, the overweight bags were carefully manhandled onto the EasyJet scales/conveyer belt with myself holding up one side to reduce the weight by a mere two or three kilos, hoping that I had not picked the ever picky Jasper Carrot as our bus conductor cum ticket ...
LA/london/paris, United States royalies... caught the local bus out to Beverley Hills clutching our maps of where the celebs live. Well, were not sure exactly how accurate these maps were but we did definately saw a few real celeb houses including J-Lo's (which is currently being renevated) Elvis', some guy who owns 7 Ferrai's! and we ate lunch on the step outside Brad and Jen's old house. We then walked to Bel Air where we ...
Los Angeles, California, United States atollafield... and in the twenties. We arrived at Universal Studios at around 10 am and parked the car in the Curious George area of the parking garage. We then proceeded to walk down the Unviersal City Walk. The Universal City Walk is located outside the Universal Studios Theme Park and it contains a lot of shops and restaurants, all highlighted with large neon signs. At the end of the City Walk we came upon the entrance to ...
