... seeing. We walked back to the cacophony of the waking PLAIN CHACHALACAs. Let me tell you, THEY ARE LOUD. They sit on the top of trees and let it fly. Totally reminds me of being in the tropics. Raining so hard you cannot see more than 10 feet in front on the road...they were calling for 50 mph winds and hail and possible funnel clouds...but birds have to be ticked so on we went. On our way down the road...Bob yelled stop so we cheated death and did a U-turn on a busy road and back-tracked a bit. Bob may be afraid of JUNGLEFOWL...but he has good eyes as he spotted two UPLAND SANDPIPERS. After that we headed to Smith Oaks. I will finish this series in the next week, telling of our experiences on the way home, our stop in Lafayette, and our week in Westwego, La. There are some funny stories.
