Canadian hospitality is the best!!!

... those boats and decided to not go on it. We were home in time for supper and Anameike had made the best tasting leftovers dish from the turkey I had ever tasted.

Monique and Mark had put an offer in on a house so we went for a drive to have a look at it the next day. The girls had a play in the park nearby. It was great to have a relaxing day. We said goodbye very reluctantly that night as we had to leave at five in the morning.

USA Day 8 Monday, September 07, 2009

Up at 8 and hit the road to the falls. We are driving along and you can see a mist I am not sure if it is fog or smoke or cloud. I see a sign mentioning some rapids and I pull over I didn't realize how close we were to the falls. These rapids fall 50 feet in about 800 yards and then it’s just straight over the edge. We park the car and walk to the falls.

Niagara consists of two falls the American falls on the US ...

Pies, and more pies.

We were running late coming into London due to the slow traffic on the 401, but it didn't matter because my younger brother, John, and his fiance, Sabine, were caught in it too, so no one had started to eat the turkey feast, and the spread of desserts my parents had laid out for us. My parents, my older brother, Noel, and his girlfriend warmly greeted us after we rang the doorbell. They hadn't changed as much as the city. I noticed heavy development ...

What a day. Oh man. We crossed the river/ Canadian border at about noon.   Then we spent the next 6 hours wondering what the he'll we were doing in Canada. At least I did. The wind was in our faces the whole time, the sky was filled with clouds leading us to believe that it could rain at any second, the towns were all bogus and lame, and the roads were ****.

Then about 70 miles into the day after this fifteen mile straight wind tunnel road of ...

Fly Day

... where we parked on a residential street for the night. By this time, we knew that the electricity to the back of the motorhome wasn't working. We had no lights, no heat and no water pump. BUT it was dry - protected from the elements, and a whole lot better than sleeping in a tent! Although it got chilly, we were happy to be on the road, on our way.

King Lear Misadventures

... Leah; Rachel (who took all the photos); Nick (my prom date and not-yet-boyfriend); and myself.

We started out very early in the morning on our charter bus. Our teacher, Nika Schulte, handed out little goody bags with snacks inside. I don't care how old you get, snacktime will always be awesome. There were also little programs about the festival and jellypens inside. Why there were jellypens, I'm not sure, but I wasn't going to complain as ...

Less than 3 weeks to go

... showering..... but what is it about backpacking across Europe that gets everyone so excited?? I was reading a article written by a guy who did the "Europe thing" when he was twenty-something, and then went back 15 years later to do the same thing (minus the no-money aspect). He said a lot has changed in the last decade or so and Europe is in the fast lane - a world where cell phones and ...
