... monks today. We returned to Assisi in the evening for dinner and then happened to find a chamber music concert in a small chapel. It was performed by members of the Assisi performing arts, a group of musicians from all over the world who come to Assisi for 3 weeks during the summer to study and perform. We heard a variety of music from Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens, Hindemith, and a piece for flute and bassoon by Villa-Lobos. A great day! Going to Montelcino tomorrow. ...

Today we had a cooking class at our bed and breakfast in Assisi. Letizia was a great teacher and cook. We were also joined by another guest from England. We made a lentil, tomato and mozzarella salad, a spinach fritatta, stringozzi pasta, and limoncello melon panacotta for desert.
