Day 45 - Chiang Rai

A travel blog entry by callie-lucy

We had an early start with breakfast in the hotel followed by our minibus picking us up at 7.15 for a day trip to Chiang Rai. The majority of the day was spent on the minibus admiring the incredible views and listening to music/chatting as it takes 3 and a half hours to get to Chiang Rai and 3 and a half hours back! It basically involves shuffling back and forward, bobbing ...

... in Chiang Rai, we were dropped off in front of the bus terminal, which worked out really well for us as we were trying to figure out a way to Luang Prabang for the next day. At the bus station, they told us that they only had a bus that would go to Chiang Kong and then we would have to figure out our way from there. Chantal had already done a lot of research and was thinking of spending a night there however we weren't totally sure how easy it would be to get from there to inland ...
