On the 5th of October, we moved to Pointes West (Fort Gordon) Recreation Area outside Appling, GA.

While there, we spent the afternoons and evenings visiting with our dear friends from our NATO assignment in The Netherlands, Dave and Linda Goetz. In addition to getting caught up, we also got to see and visit with two of their ...

... This is a nice place to just relax and enjoy Clarks Hill Lake. The park is about 50 miles from Augusta and on the weekend alot of people come to fish and enjoy the lake.

Tomorrow we move on the General Coffee State Park in Nicholls, Ga. for 2 nights and then on to see our 3 grandsons, one is playing football on Saturday, for 3 nights and then home on Monday 10/6.

... walked from room to room in Mark’s home, I felt and saw Haven everywhere, which was strangely comforting. Some of her collectables brought back such vivid and fond memories that at times I felt like she was going to walk through the door. Her big sweet kitty, Buddy Love, hasn’t lost one of his robust 30 lbs. after years of dieting. What a love machine and great companion for Mark.

Avett brothers headlined the first night and were off the hook! They played an upbeat set and exceeded my expectation (that were high anyway) in every regard.

Second night headliners were Old crow Medicine show. They were surrounded by even more hype from the locals than the Avett Bros, but they didn’t do anything for me as original ...
