... and good climatic conditions, plenty of woods and current waters were the reasons why this area has been inhabtated ever since the ancient times. The oldest traces of human life here date from the younger stone age and many neolithic sites have been found on the fertile river terraces.

... safe.
I was feeling a bit hungry so I met up with a few friends that I know in the area and we all went out for dinner. We had a great meal, with plenty of booze and I was only too happy to pay the bill when it came. One of the guys knows the owner so we were able to sit around into the small hours, chatting and drinking. All on me, of course.
The next morning, I wasn't feeling my best but managed to drag myself out of ...
Arrived on Friday (Sept,11th) evening and set ourselves up in a shady, stream side site in Hard Labor Creek State Park. The name comes from the Indians many years ago saying it was hard labor to cross the river (creek). We found no 'hard labor' in any of our stay. The Town is charming with great historic value and flare. The State Park is large and the campground is huge. RV sites, tents, great fully furnished cabins, and an ...
Rutledge, Georgia, United States jodieandandyScott and I are finally on vacation---well, almost. I have to finish packing, it's almost 10:00 pm, and we have to leave at 5:30 in the morning tomorrow but it's VACATION! Looking forward to a nice, long 10 hour flight (with a break) all day tomorrow.
Suwanee, Georgia, United States sbickleI wanted to spend more time in Athens, but because of all the problems going on, plans kind of got extremely disorganized and we went to Athens on a whim.
We basically ended up in a bar and grabbed dinner at The Grit (famous for vegetarian cuisine), while briefly cruising around town.
I felt sad and sentimental that I didn't get to tour it more, but then again I felt relief; I have another university to call my own, for I am also a NYU graduate. ;)
Hey y'all,
I tried to email everyone the pictures of my condo but AOL doesn't have enough storage space for the amount of pictures I took, so here they are!
In other news, I've applied to a few jobs and realized (again) that looking for a ...
... the whole way back. We even coordinated our stops very well. We were back in Atlanta at 5 pm - but luckily not too much traffic. We stopped at the new Barrow Publix for some dinner and milk. The kids got to play with the neighbors while we unloaded the car.
Whew!
... How do they keep their arteries open around here? There were churches every mile (or more). We saw Carolina rice paddies - I never associated rice growing with southern US before.
We stopped at a State Park for lunch and had a picnic next to a lovely lake - there were few others there at first, but they all left and we had the park to ourselves. The temperature was in the high 20s and humid. We carried on down towards Charleston, seeing Azaleas and lots of ...
"It takes a great effort to set an object in motion, yet once you do, the motion becomes easier and easier to maintain. You keep it going on its own momentum. Traveling is a matter of maintaining momentum. Resisting gravity. Free-falling past the horizon; falling, never landing. Will Ferguson, Hitching Rides with Buddha. Sunday November 5, 2006 Well friends, in the truest sense, I've lost forward movement. I'm stuck in neutral. I'm ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States chattermouth... this is a big surprise that she had to pay? I think NOT! This is where I begin to fall apart. Sometimes I feel like walking up to the ATM machine and just paying for it to put me out of my misery! Maybe that is the plot all along?! Anyway, back to the airport story. So, this day was a bit different. I was late arriving into Atlanta but my flight leaving for my next destination was also late. So, I took time to walk the entire length and width of the ...
