... we stuck to the smaller roads and wound our way along one narrow valley after another. The countryside is still very green, there haven’t been enough frosts to dry it off and the winter crops are lush and well grown. We did go over a pass at around 1700m where there was some patchy snow. Its all that remains from a heavy snowfall about the same time we had that downpour in Thessaloniki. There are many ski resorts along this route and we have seen that the ...

Day 2 of our Innisfail stay and we went to Tully to see what was happening with Pedro. Nothing much yet, but they did confirm that whatever it was it wasn't good. Der!

... babies to follow into the sea. It was an incredible experience watching them scrambling down the beach - I will certainly never forget it! Afterwards we were given a decision - we could either head back with the volunteer or wait with the ranger whilst he dug up the nest to check for stragglers and also to count and remove the egg shells. We chose to stay. He ended up bringing up 8 more baby turtles which would have died if he hadn't dug up the nest. At ...

Last night we stayed at another rest point just on top of a hill in the middle of no where - I think just outside Gin Gin near Tiaro. We had a lovely, new view from the tent of rolling hills and forest. Quite beautiful. This is why everyone should live in a tent - Put it anywhere and have any view in the world. Different every day. It's brilliant. Lashing waves one day and rolling greenland the next. Shaun made his ...
