After five days in Sydney, Australia I couldn't help but be disappointed. We arrived in on Monday morning at 5am and by the time we were leaving on the Friday we had not seen one landslide, hurricane, river burst its bank or a single convict escape from jail and then terrorize the neighborhood. No one had been stabbed, shot, run over or kidnapped. No planes had crashed in the bush, no bush fires had broken out, no boats had sunk and not a single person had come back from the dead. I can hones...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia radiojohnThe plane left on time, but I must admit I can't remember planes being so uncomfy. I have one word for it and that is "numb bum" !! I struggled to sleep, but Ash just smiled, closed her eyes and went into a sound sleep!! She woke up refreshed, and I felt like a zombie. Anyway, luckily our hotel is close to the station, and we went to leave our luggage there until 2, but when we arrived at 8.30 am she said our room was ready, so we happily went up and lay on the bed and had a wonderful shower ...
Sydney, Australia scatterling
... on the beach checking out the view :) LJ had finished her book earlier in the morning so sulked cause she had nothing to read while soaking up the rays which were just strong enough to cancel out the chill of the wind. We worked on the Tan for a couple of hours before getting bored and there's only so many jokes you can make at a bird who was sat near us, she had to be British just by the size of her and then slapped in a bikini to top it off. If LJ shouted beached whale any louder ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia gaz-lj... feeling a bit better, but our energy level is still low, and of course we're still coughing and sneezing. Anyway, it was a beautiful day and we saw a lot of lovely sights. Tomorrow we'll return and do some of the things in more depth. We decided against the bridge climb, but maybe we'll do a bridge walk. The opera house is truly gorgeous, and much larger than any photos can show. It has over 1000 rooms, some ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia marwilt... of you but you can't quite grasp it fast enough and it's so frustrating having to decipher what do to next.

Not having a plan is also proving hard for me, as I usually always know what I'm doing. But I guess I just need to take every day as it comes and see what happens. It's all a learning curve if nothing else. I'm not sure where in the country I will end up working, or what I will be doing. But I guess that's all part of the fun!
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia suzyhart7... During my evening stroll, i made my way down to the Darling Harbour where there are really cool water displays and fountains and a few small, but funky parks. In the hostel i chatted with my canadian roomates, tonight i was hoping for an early night, oh how i was wrong!! A large American guy snored like a steamtrain, meaning none of us got much sleep and had to move rooms at 3am! Ouch!

Day 74

Today was quite an action-packed day, so i arose from my slumber to ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia leehorscraft... darling harbour and the opera house etc, all great , but i dont have enough time to go to bondi, which i am dissappointed about. I will def come back to oz, maybe with the love of my life and spend a lot longer, it has been a whistle stop tour starting in melbourne and heading north , then back down south again. We are going to have the african reunion at my house in sept, in my african mud hut. I am looking forward to coming home, and this time ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia michelle02... for about a half hour...and here we are now... So yea, we didn't walk all the way back from Coogee Beach, but we did walk back from Bondi Junction. The buses are good, but the ATMs here give out only $50 bills, meaning getting exact change for a bus can be annoying. More beach tomorrow. I hope to boogie on my boogie board. The hives went away but I didn't get tan. Thank god for Irish Tourists...I'm not the whitest guy out there.... --Jimmy
Bondi, New South Wales, Australia jimmyandkristen... of my hostel roomies mentioned we should stay in a place called St. Kilda (the bohemian part of town). All of my roomies were young, traveling gypsies looking for work, but enjoying life- it was nice to see them maximizing on the youth this way. Filled with recycled clothing stores and creative, privately owned cafes and restaurants it was a nice contrast from the commercialized city life in Sydney. Their waters are home to ...
