Weather did not improve overnight... but we still decided to go for a walk at Leura cascades - interrupted by heavy rain - and at Blakheath - not really convincing as the fog was still there. A bit fustrated, we decided to take the car and drive out of the Blue Mountains in search of a warmer/better climate. Jenolan Caves: being further down in a valley the Jenolan Caves benefited from a better ...
Orange, New South Wales, Australia alecourLast Entry for this trip! Nooooooooooo i hate going home. Well I last updated in Kelowna. I did a cruise of the Lake which was nice. I went swimming for a few hours. Bloody cold water but I was in there until 7pm. It's light so late... Anyways I cuaght the Greyhound the next morning to Vancouver. I was lucky to get on the bus cos it was full but first in line came in handy. After arriving in Vancouver at 3pm, I went ...
Orange, New South Wales, Australia kimb3rly_jad3... Katoomba is famous for. It was a couple of days and nights very well spent by this newly betrothed couple however. Lurline House was a great place to shack up against the elements and the food, local galleries, shops and chocolate museums kept us out of moisture's way, in between dashes down to Echo Point to see if the mist ...
Sydney, Australia technotrekker... in a fenced security area with no fluent (except you pay for it)... After a new year's hang out I went back to the Blue Mountains and after a night with a lot of Truck noise I drove on up to Bathurst into the inland - and avoided the coming rain at the coast. Bathurst is very known for its car races and so I camp at the (for public open) racetrack on the summit of Mount Panorama.
Bathurst, Australia pajas... evening we went out for drinks in the Iso Cafe they had some pretty good music on but the next evening we discovered that they were only serving if you eat so perhaps we looked too grubby after all that trekking. Ku-ring-gai(guy) National Park More trekking around on closed trails (the ferry man told us we'd be doing some bush wacking), nice palm beach (there's loads of them across australia) and fun ...
Katoomba, Australia sidom... the track and there was a minutes silence and also an empty place on the grid. The big race started 10am and Mark Skaife was cleaned up even before he had done his first lap. There were a number of accidents, the safety car was out 9 times and at the end of the day FORD won!! Craig Lowndes coming in first, the Kelly bros second and another Ford was third. It was a good day and now its time to pack up and move on.
Bathurst, Australia jimandelle... to say I have done a splendid job at optimising my precipitation exposure throughout my trip. Africa wasn't too bad but there was always afternoon rain... Thailand, is teamed down most of the time (Pam will back me on that one), Vietnam was grim beyond all grimness (freezing and wet and foggy... yuk! - Only aiding my love of the place obviously!) and I managed to head down the East Coast of Australia during their wettest Summer on record. So... there ...

Katoomba, Australia louiseridout... hour west out of Sydney. Despite its zoo like shortcomings we enjoy a few hours learning about the animals, the opportunity to hand-feed a kangaroo or emu andcuddle up to a koala are Ad's highlights..... Some interesting facts on Australia's most favoured animals... The Red Kangaroo is one of the largest living marsupials. 1. Red kangaroos cover a large part of Australia. 2. They usually live in small mobs of about 10, consisting of a ...
Sydney, Australia adeline... beautiful scenery that included much diversity as well as waterfalls and some of largest and oldest trees in the world. The unhurried streets and picturesque harbour city of Hobart was a welcome change from the overwhelming bustle of Sydney, making it an easy and pleasant city to explore. Our timing was perfect so that we also hit the boisterous Salamanca Market. We also travelled along the east coast, staying at Swansea ...
