... silly in the methods described above, we're really going to miss having a quiet drink in our own home, well, probably just as much. There's something about being at your own place, + a few tunes + trackie-daks + quaff of choice = pure bliss.

Maybe this realisation came because our trip is no longer a fantasy but a

reality, maybe because we're getting closer to D-day every day,
maybe because it's only just sinking in what we're really ...

We went around the Floriade which is a spring festival with a fair, craft tents and flowers. Then we drove to the Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial, which are the main sights of the city.

We are now heading east again to the coast, before going to Sydney.

Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia hyper351... a lot to do - heaps of fun (see the photos!) Then we headed to Old Parliament House - another interesting afternoon. John became fascinated with the Aboriginal Embassy outside on the grounds of Old Parliament House. We are now inside the camper at our dodgey accomodation keeping warm. Its beautiful. We had an excellent homecooked meal (well John-cooked).

Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia vrone... about 5km away. Very nice, planned cities good. After operation breakfast I would rather starve than eat at the hotel, mind you something tells me they wouldn't exactly cater for the likes of weirdeo veggie me, so we taxied into the CBD to an Italian Tosolini's, then ended up getting rat-***** in a micro brewery 'The wig and pen' where they served pints, am out of the habit! And of course we had to finish off in 'King O'Malleys' Irish bar named after a 1913 ...

Canberra, Australia joergen... detour to the coast to see 'Malua Bay' and a quick walk on the beach at 'Tomakin', where there were fabulous folded rocks on the cliff sides. Passing through the seaside town there were more of the coloured parrots and a big flock of crested cockatoos. The bell birds we had heard in most of the forests on the way. After lunch at 'Batemans Bay', we turned north west on Hwy 52 to 'Canberra', Australia's capital city. We climbed steadily ...
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia harryandnorah... March We were glad to get up & check out at 10am - only 8 hrs to pass in Crapberra! Again we went for a walk around the city hoping that maybe yesterday was just a 'tired day' and maybe, oh maybe, we would stumble upon something that might slightly excite or tantilise us........but nope!! Hence, we reverted to what we always do when we are bored...grabbed a book & settled ourselves in Starbucks with a large coffee! Tried ...
