... and I attended the Maitre D's wine tasting, and then to our massages in the Lotus Spa. Bob enjoyed his so much, he is having another one on our second sea day on Tuesday. Tonight was our first formal night of the cruise with the Captain's welcome and traditional champagne pyramid pour. He announced the passenger count by nationalities, and the Americans beat out the Aussies by a nose! We had formal "prom portraits" taken followed by dinner and dancing. Tomorrow we arrive in ...

The very last leg of my Greek journey was a visit to Cape Seunion with the remarkable Temple of Posejdon facing the Mediterrean Sea. The sanctuary of Poseidon at Cape Sounion is one of the most important sanctuaries in Attica. The site was inhabited in the prehistoric period. ... hours free time to shop, look around and eat of course!! We are now back at the motel for 2 hours free time (thought we had better catch up with the blog because we have had trouble with WiiFi lately) before we go out again at 4.30 for a picnic tea in the Vienna Woods. Busy Busy but we are having a great time and seeing so many wonderful things. Bye for now and trust this finds you all well and happy and having a boring life. Bert and Maria

It took 2 days, a bus and 2 ferries (one overnight) to get to Greece, but I finally did! Actually it technically only took about 2 hrs to get from Turkey to Rhodes, Greece. But since I could still actually see Turkey from there I feel it hardly counts. After staggering around Rhodes for an afternoon with ALL my luggage at it's heaviest (it's still full of clothes and nessecities, but equally loaded with souvenirs and gifts now!), I ...

    Athens, Paros & Santorini

We arrived in Athens after 3 wonderful days in Venice a city I think I will continue to grow more fond of in reflection of our visit. Athens is less aesthetically impressive but significantly historical and that in itself was an interesting enough reason to visit. It is also a pumping city of over 6 million people, 1/2 the population of Greece live here. We only spent a day in Athens, just enough time to wander to bar districts for a ...
