    ... Civil war. On then to Harriet Island, which is on the Mississippi River, tried to have a paddleboat ride, but none were operating. We had a little walk along the river. Then we drove through Minneapolis looking at the University and other buildings, and on to the Mall of America.     Leaving my bro in laws house we saw two huge bucks. They were much bigger than the deer we see around Bellingham. These looked like deer people hunt for. They were quite majestic looking. didn't have my camera ready again, darn.

    ... the Whitestone and Limestone layers. Apparently there are Amish people living in the area. We saw young man on a horse drawn wagon, who was dozing, probably from bailing hay. Even though the reigns were slack, you could tell that the horse new exactly where it was going. Our goal was to leave Wisconsin at La Crosse - which is a Mississippi River crossover to Minnesota.
