Took a bit of a break while in El Paso--the continuous triple digit heat really zapped my energy by evening! I didn't take the luxurious naps that Chuck enjoyed every afternoon. He and the chaise lounge in the Holguin's living room became well acquainted! We spent an entire week in El Paso & had a wonderful visit! Elina Leonor Beaty kept us highly entertained with her repertoire of antics. She absolutely floored me during our visit to the El ...

Left El Paso about 2:30 AM this morning, in hopes of beating some of the heat. However, there is no beating 107° in Weatherford. So, we follow the simple directions from this KOA website and they are all screwed up. Eastbound on 20 the site says get off on exit 406. ... hole. I cleaned everything and then applied a clear sealant, Lexel, and reattached the lights. All that was left to do now was wait for it to rain again to find out if that solved the problem.

We had made arrangements to meet our friend, Suzanne, for lunch and to do some sightseeing, so we probably wouldn't be around when, and if, the rain started up again. Oh, well.

Suzanne suggested a Mexican restaurant called Mi ...

... events. They had a tag attached to a calf and about 25 kids in the arena chasing to receive the tag from the calf. It was pretty funny! We made friends with the people next to us and met them outside after the rodeo. One of them competed in the rope and tie. It's amazing to see the rider lasso the calf so quick from the horse and immediately jump off while in motion to get the calf down and tie the hind legs. Even watching the horse yield to a stop and put ...
