    Well we have finally crossed the border into Germany. 45 minute ferry ride and then we got stuck in a town called Puttengarden (I called it poopgarden). Did not like it much and had to get a B&B for the night because the campground was really unpleasant. B&B was pretty good but we had to store our bikes and trailers in with the horse.     ... Eastern Germany. The guide used to come to Travemunde (where our ship was docked) to play at the very popular beach along the river. It was clearly a beach resort with a boardwalk and kiosks and playgrounds. But just across the river was East Germany and the beach contained only a fence with guard towers. Today the guard towers are gone and in their place is a park, a marina, and a hotel. While still somewhat undeveloped, it is a much more pleasant view!
