... Eastern Germany. The guide used to come to Travemunde (where our ship was docked) to play at the very popular beach along the river. It was clearly a beach resort with a boardwalk and kiosks and playgrounds. But just across the river was East Germany and the beach contained only a fence with guard towers. Today the guard towers are gone and in their place is a park, a marina, and a hotel. While still somewhat undeveloped, it is a much more pleasant view!
Today, I went up to Hamburg to meet up with my mom's coworker's friend's daughter. She lives in Hamburg and is currently studying Fashion Management. We went and took a bus tour around the city which was mainly in German and I understood most of it! We then had lunch on the lake and walked around the city until she had to go to work.
I promise I will have more exciting things to write about this week!
... People were yelling and screaming in the streets, then they were blowing fireworks off fireworks in the streets. Apparently people were rioting over by the Holstentor! I am not sure how long people were out last night as I had to get to bed as I had a final today, but it was quite an experience!

Today was our last day in Eutin, Germany. Kai took us to Lubeck before our last concert. We first walked along the river and crossed over into Lubeck. Kai took us around the city showing us many different sites. We got to see chocolate stores, trinket stores, churches and the music school of Lubeck.
