Here we are on I-15 traveling to Legoland!! Lots of desert scrub and mountains so far but not much else. Stopped at Whiskey Pete's for gas and are now heading into the mountains to cross into LA. After many "are we there yet?" questions we pulled off in Barstow, California to buy some Lego mini figures at Walmart. Yikes. Disgusting. Smelly. NO PLACE I WOULD EVER LIVE. It was not nice! We had a later start today everyone was glad of a little sleep in. Before we left Salt Lake ...

First stop was Hoover Dam where we were given a packed breakfast consisting of muffin, apple, cheese crackers and orange juice. Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado ...

... other side of the car where the round had lost oomph and just dented the metal out. Looking at all the holes I wonder how the cops didn't shoot each other in the process. I reckon it would be worth a few shekels these days. Due to our dick around when booking in we were provided a free buffet dinner for two. This obviously is not in the league of Wynn or Ceasars but was very reasonable and we left very contented. Lets see what tomorrow ...

    Grand Canyon

Very sad (incredibly sad!!!!) to leave Vegas today, but happy to be able to have a nap in the van! Saw where the Colorado river is dammed by the Hoover dam which supplies all the water for Vegas. Apparently the water level has been dropping steadily for the last 5 years (you can see a big ring around the dam where the water line used to be). They are unsure what they are going to do about the ...
