... to start celebrating Jim birthday a bit earlier and headed up the dune for a beach BBQ and to watch the sunset.
Today has been a pack up and travel day and we are now sitting down after a nice shower on our campsite in Tours. The washing is in the machine, we are having a beer and just about to start dinner - steak baguettes with onions, mushrooms and salad with chips from the campsite bar. 2 nights here and next stop Paris :-)

We left Emilion, a quiet and peaceful place and travelled into Bordeaux, noisy busy and hundreds of cars on the roads into the city. A massive contrast. I didn't personally enjoy Bordeaux but more because my head hurt and also we had parked our Beast in a pretty shady district and pedalled into the city. ... the way to Hotel Mermoz even though only Mesfin was staying there before I back-tracking to Hotel L'Airial with Peter and Sue. It turned into a pleasant afternoon and we didn't get rained on.

While we were eating, it poured rain briefly and then the sun came out for our walk back to the hotel where we all had rooms now. Caroline and I declined an invitation to travel to downtown Bordeaux in favour of a nap.
