    ... a walk along the shore and a dip in the Atlantic. while we did not get to swim with the Miami Dolphins, we did get to walk with a humpback whale! We spent a few hours at the casino with Millie and Bert, and then had a delicious dinner out.

    Flying in to Fort Lauderdale, we were all struck by the amount of water, in the form of canals, ponds and pools all over the city. We weren't in Kansas anymore.

    Port Everglades is quite close to the airport. Our pre-arranged shuttle van arrived after Cathie's phone call, and the driver kindly stopped enroute at a Walgreen's for wine. He was well tipped for bending the company rules, and given a bottle for his dinner too.

    ... we have enjoyed the Jersey Shore and the Outer Banks. There was always a destination and the gathering. This gathering is a vital component to the legacy of our family. Great memories, good and bad (like white water rafting and getting there) go down in history and the bad have a way of quickly embellishing a good yarn about our version of this “dysfunctional family”.

    Christian Fletcher from Pitcairn Island and climbed Jacob`s Ladder at
    St. Helena Island. We slipped and slid, and were giddy with

    And I'm off! I began the long 11 hour drive to Florida. Adrenaline pumping the entire time, I think I asked myself what the hell I was doing once an hour.
