Easter Sunday was a killer! We were so tired and missed being with our family so much!
Now we have rested for a couple of days. Rented a car and scoped out the area.

Tomorrow we are going out fishing on someone else's boat to see how to do it down here. They say they caught five sailfish last week. That is really what RaRa wants to do. We'll see...........don't hold your breath. I want a big Mahi Mahi. I'll put him in the freezer.

We took another look at the charts, reevaluated the weather, and unanimously decided to go for the crossing to the Bahamas. We motored out of the Harbour Towne Marina in Dania, FL, and made our way to the Port Everglades Inlet out to sea. It was a beautiful day, hot and sunny with a nice breeze.

We overheard an announcement regarding a Navy training exercise just south of the inlet, so we kept ourselves a bit north to stay out of the way as directed. We were able to ...

... it is not easy to get a head around.

Diets, Leslie, Tina and I went to a great bar down near the beach where a piano player was singing his heart out ... he was pretty good.

Later we looked at a huge fish tank ... with some ultra-slim fish in it ... and Leslie's view was that these crazy-slim fish were evidence that there is a God ... to which I could not really respond in a short time.

... looked and tasted great. We will eat well on this trip… but hopefully not more than usual. There is a LOT of food on this ship. By the pool in the sports area there are a couple of places where you can serve yourself soft ice cream which the kids are happy about.

Evan and Steven just went out to play foosball. I am feeling very seasick right now and am hoping that I feel better in the morning.

Embarkation Day

Up at 7:00AM this morning to get ready...today is embarkation day for our cruise. Went downstairs to eat the free (yes free) breakfast and wow did they have a lot of choices. Stuck with the safe bets (scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and fresh fruit) and guess what....COFFEE....Yes Hot, delicious COFFEE....FINALLY. The coffee was actually really,really good.

Back up to the room to make sure we had our transfer tags ...
