... with the baggage guys trying to locate it. There was nothing for it but to go into town and check in to a room. Í had all my valuables, but had to spend the evening in my sweaty bus clothes and hope it would be there in the morning. Luckily it was. *breathe a sigh of relief* - if that was Asia i donīt think i would have seen it again.
Veracruz is a sweaty little sea side ...
Good morning! The sun in shining in Veracruz and I have finished packing. Today we leave for Puebla and I'm saddened to hear that the drive is only about 3 hours long. I wish it was more as I could greatly use the sleep but c'est la vie! I'll get what I can!
Last night we performed for a crowd of over 300 people and what a receptive audience they were. It seemed small since the venue we were in held almost 4,000 people, but this crowd definitely made ...
... it was, it was a great feeling and I'd love to feel that way forever!
Afterwards, we headed back to our main facility for some education time. We were asked to pin a piece of paper on our backs and go around and write what you think each person would be doing in 10 years. Here is what some members of my cast had to say about me:
Being young at heart...even at 80!
Performing everyday!
Seriously, you inspire me to work harder and always do my best - you can do this ...
... as that's truly mattered :) The staff at the aquarium even allowed three people to go into the shark tank and feed the sharks! One staff member, Phil (it was his birthday on Tuesday), and 2 students dressed in wet suits and took the plunge in a glass case. It was fun to watch them feed the sharks but also a little bit terrifying as those sharks were very hungry!
After the aquarium, we drove to Antigua, a nearby municipal city. Antigua is ...
Hi friends :)
Just wanted to wish you all a fabulous Wednesday! I've had a crazy 3 days here as we were prepping for the cast's arrival on Sunday and Monday, the cast arrived on Monday, and today was our first full day with the cast as well as Mexican Independence Day! I started a blog tonight but need to get up early tomorrow as we are going to the beach! I'll be sure to finish tomorrow!
I hope you all are well :)
Hugs,
Megan
... People, we are thrown into the culture by living with families that embrace that culture. And through that exposure we must learn to interact with the people in that family and of that city, and at least acquiesce to those changes knowing that we have no "neutral place" to return to that night.
Time to start living for the moment and what I am doing now. Nothing negative can come from that. There will be regrets or what-ifs. There will only be stronger friendships that will ...
... I started teaching on Monday. I have third grade advanced. They can pretty much understand everything I am saying, which helps the class move right along. I have one group in the morning and another in the afternoon which doesn't leave me a lot of time with one group. Sometimes I have them for three hours, sometimes for one hour, depending on the day and their extra-curricular activities. But they ...
Veracruz, Mexico amankora... in our sobriety. Tuxpam We left Veracruz on our third day and headed down (up) the coast. Our destination was the river town of Tuxpam. We had an over-night sail to the Rio Paradisio which is a fairly wide river rolling out of the Mexican hillside. Early the next morning I arose to find the boat already headed up the river. The Mexican Coast Guard stopped us after awhile. Captain Greg presented them a copy of the welcome letter ...
Veracruz, Mexico lavidanueva... of a tropical garden. Aside from being the capital of this state it's also the base for a range of outdoor activities such as white water rafting, rock climbing, hikes through mist enshrouded mountains, etc. It's also a coffee and tobacco growers (and afficionados) paradise. We unfortunately were not able to partake in any of the aforementioned activites (for a couple of reasons). Still we were able to walk through several of the cities parks, visit ...
Xalapa and Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico susieandisidroOnce you've got a load to carry, the last thing you want to do is travel. You want to get where you’re going as fast as you can. So I bypass all the little stops along the way, even the big stop in Mexico City, opting instead for the coastal route through Veracruz. I didn’t ...
