... if you have fish fins as feet, don't throw litter, and don't perform a stunt-jump over a car whilst riding a motorcycle (see bottom photo). A beautiful day!
The next day, more amazing brekkie at said cafe, then we went to the jungle at Cape Rachado, south of Port Dickson and on the border with Malacca (A.K.A Malaka).
My first experience of tropical jungle, and 30 yards into the thick of it I see four monkeys! We walked for a while (me staring in wonder ...
Hallitseva maailmanmestari, McLarenin Lewis Hamilton ajoi seitsemänneksi ...
Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia amatsinrake... what he was doing and within a few hours we completed our drive. The Tiara Resort is built on a large plot of land just south of town. In addition to having regular hotel amenities, the property also includes both serviced and non-serviced apartment units. Our plan was to stay in a privately-owned two bedroom place with a kitchen, two baths, etc. Well, the room did have those things, but... more about the lodging situation later. What I should ...
Port Dickson, Malaysia jon.tompkinsMalaysia! Our first stop in Malaysia was Melaka (or Malacca) a small city just south of Kuala Lumpur. We were told that Melaka was rich in culture and heritage and a must see for people traveling to Malaysia. Sure the city was cute, but for the effort that it took us to get there, I'm not sure it was worth it. We took a bus into Melaka from Singapore and arrived late at night. From the bus station we had to get a cab to ...

Port Dickson, Malaysia meganne_0303Singapore to Melaka by bus. Funny imigration system; you jump on and of the bus; leaving Singapore on one side of the bridge and coming into Malaysia on the other side! 5 people to stamped my pasport and it was in the wrong place!!! Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia cmdr... nearest rail station to the city of Melaka. I took a one-hour local bus to Melaka on the southwestern coast, which was a regional power for centuries and is still a center of Malay culture. It was a center of successive Malay, Portueguese, Dutch, British, and Japanese control until Malaysia was founded 50 years ago. There is one neighborhood famous for Peraka architecture -- the Peraka are descendents of Malay/Chinese mixing centuries ago ...
Melaka, Malaysia finrod3791... it, I wish I could raise just one eyebrow- looks cooler) and stare them down. The wedding was over in minutes and as far as I can see, only seemed to have been conducted with the groom. The bride sitting to the side looking demure and pretty. We went for the reception at the brides home bearing many gifts - made from pure gold and silk! The food was great! Malays eat their food with their hands. They tried to bring me cutlery, but I wasn't having any of that. Besides ...
Melaka, Malaysia kimbugs... to Dumai. An hour passes and Monika and I are making alternate plans on how we are going to make our visa deadline to leave Indonesia when the travel van arrives to pick us up. After a transfer to another van, and a half hour wait longer, we are off. The driver, however, makes at least 5 or 6 stops in town potentially to visit friends or make none de script deliveries. Two hours later we finally manage to establish a travel style pace that is quickly ...
Melaka, Malaysia pshemek... to the ever changing faces associated with travel. We spent our time in KL indulging our vegetarian predelictions both of the Chinese and Indian variety. We even spent half a day in KLCC mall at the base of the Petronas Towers taking afternoon tea and browsing the shops and English language bookstores. After a long evening of meandering streets, lanes, and car choked avenues we made it back to the dark confines of our hostel to watch movies and have a couple of well ...
