Calle Miragua Playa el Agua, Margarita Island, Coastal Islands, Venezuela, 58-295-249-13-03
Sorry for long delay. I wrote a really long entry the other day but then my computer crashed ams I got really annoyed so went for a swim in the sea instead! I have had a fantastic week in Margarita I found a wonderful hotel in the north of the island (www.hotelcostalinda.com) I think that is correct. the beach is 4km of white sand and amazing caribbean waves I have spent lots of time swimmming. I have been out visiting other parts of the island too. Yesterday I went to a lovley little bay and...
Isla de Margarita, Venezuela coddersgoeswild
... since there are very few signposts on the island and we don’t have a map! Their maid is resident here, hence the Spanish only conversations, which we are just about managing, but I think she has enjoyed our company!

In touring the island we have noticed that there are, not surprisingly, some significant differences between the main areas. Some parts are crowded, such as Porlamar that is the most built up area, in complete contrast to other ...
Margarita Island, Venezuela suenson_taylors... that are here, all of the locals seem to be amazed by my blue eyes. I would mention something here about Hitler and his ideals, but I’m not meant to be mentioning the war so I shall leave that…

Anyway, back to the beach and its vendors… they are all very friendly, and seem to be quite quick to propose marriage. At least now I know that if I find myself lonely and considering buying a cat I can come here and find a ...
Margarita Island, Venezuela vickicooperI am here in Ciudad Bolivar trying to catch up with the blog entry that I have missed over the last few days. This was just a small trip to Isla de Margarita and I never knew that there was such a place, nothing happens and everything is happening. There is so much development here but the transport to the Island is appalling, at least the one we were on ...

Groeten vanuit El Yaque, Venezuela
El Yaque, Venezuela jhoekstra79... at us with mild amusement!! I check the tickets whcih state Premier class, cost BS26 each.. well at least we made a saving !! We board the rust bucket between the large lorries carrying fruit and building materials. The ferry is very old, we opt for cattle class as First class is in darkness with some tvs blaring out spanish cartoons and the aircon is broken. Cattle class is almost empty, the large windows are wide open and the breeze is heavensent. The Fast ferry, which ...
Isla Margarita, Venezuela kingsandemsDAY 10 We seem to be waking up earlier every day because of the time difference. Sure enough, we were one of the first on deck having breakfast as we approached the Isla of Margherita. We met our friends Terry and Elaine after breakfast, and as we hadn't booked any trips decided to book a taxi together with an English speaking tour guide. Our taxi was a very large American 4x4 and at least 20 years old. The driver was named Jose .Anyway, he was a great character who spoke ...
Porlamar, Venezuela rrybijAfter Canaima National Park and Angel Falls, I was headed to the famous Isla de Margarita, an island in northern Venezuela, in the Caribbean Ocean.

I got there with a ferry from Puerto La Cruz, which was just about the most classy ferry I've ever stepped on board on. It was more like how I'd imagine the cruise ships to look like - but then they must look even better. On the ferry I got to know a few Venezuelans who shared a table with me ...
Porlamar, Coastal Islands, Venezuela thrudur... as I took in the awesome views of 22KM of beach (the longest in South America) and checked out the souvenir shark teeth on sale. Not convinced into buying the shark teeth, the shark teeth necklace, bracelet and earring set or even the bones of a sharks head we headed to "Coco Loco", the crazy coconut shack specialising in rum and coconut cocktails. Mmmm just what I needed to fend off the headache. The final stop of the tour was Juangreigo, Isla Margarita´s second largest town, situated on ...
