I’m sure the locals were confused and amused by a band of wayward motorcyclists roaring through their narrow village streets which were not wide enough for even the smallest of European cars. Tropea - back on the main land
... anything that includes red onion. It was very sweet and tasty, so I guess they have a right to boast. Our fist dinner was a record low at 24euros (2 pizzas, 2 drinks, water, dessert), a popular pizza restaurant where we had to queue to get in - no wonder, at those prices!
It was a lovely relaxing 3 day break, after the madness and mahem of Taormina and no doubt the more gentrified but still touristy town of Sorrento coming ...
Backstage Tour at Sea

After dinner we all went out to the promenade together and watched as the cruise ship sailed between the narrow bit between Sicily and Italy. There was a sunset, lighthouse, Mt. The Real Italy
... a coffee before taking the funicular up to Certosa di San Martino, a castle overlooking Naples. So perhaps Naples has changed - though it still isn't high on my list of places to see, at least it's no longer a place that I'd avoid like the plague. My Journey Home
... Every seat was full I think. It's a national holiday here so that might have something to do with it. Luckily, it's the high speed train and it only takes just over an hour to get to Rome. That was train 2. I need to catch the train to the airport which runs every hour. That was Train 3. The airport in Rome is strange for check in. I had to reference the display board to see which section I check into. It took forever to check in and get through security. ...
