Bocas Del Toro was in our rear view mirror and we were now headed to Panama City for a night so that we could catch our flight to Bogota, Colombia but first Panama City. I don't normally have many positives things to say about bus rides but driving over the Panama Canal on a bridge and being able to take in its views was remarkable to say the least.

A taxi story: The taxi from the hotel had cost me $12. I knew it was overpriced, being called by the hotel, but it was my first day so I dealt with it. I found a reasonable and trustworthy looking taxi driver and asked him how much to return to my hotel. His answer, folks, was... $25. WHAT? That’s some kind of tourist price hike, considering that the $12 was probably high to begin with. ...
