... in bigger cities. I shared a wine with Clive later before he headed back to the farmhouse to collect Nick on the way to Andratx for dinner. We stayed on in Palma and dined alfresco "Mari Lin Cafe Lounge". I ordered a chicken curry. I should have known better.
Back at the farmhouse, the girls began their packing. They depart for Paris tomorrow. It will be a sad moment for Debbie.
... the paella and we had to 'doggie-bag' the rest. The paella was certainly the best we've ever had. It was after 1800 when we returned from lunch and nobody felt like dinner.
Chris and I had a quick dip in the pool and Cathryn took the boys back to their apartment in Magalluf. Larry, Andrew and Harry are leaving for Barcelona ...
... secluded beach I was after but it will do for escaping the tourist trap. Locals rambling in Spanish all around me, the sun beaming down, and waves crashing on the shore, ah it's almost perfect.
After heading from this beach I wandered a little further down the road and found myself at Calvia, another beach this time larger and right in the middle of a very touristic resort. Definitely didn't enjoy this place, didn't ...
... port but unfortunately, we would have had to wait another 20 minutes before they opened to the public. The prawns looked delicious.
Lunch was at a restaurant called Marisqueria Galicia. We all shared several entrees (pimientos di padrone, fried baby squid, squid rings, a tomato and onion salad, galician style pulpo (octopus) and a fish platter). It was all very tasty with ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Costa Azul Palma
Great hotel. good value for money. Rooms large and very clean. Hotel staff very helpful. Good location for the shops and sights. Fantastic view from the bedrooms and the breakfast is excellant. Road below busy but our room double glazed. Would stay again and would recommend to others. No hairdryer.
Great value for money
An excellent value for money hotel!Spacious rooms, friendly staff, good breakfasts. The sea view rooms have a lovely view across the port, yet the sound of the traffic is not a problem thanks to the double glazing and patio doors. A great location, just a lovely ten minute stroll into town.
Stay at Hotel Costa Azul
We stayed four days at Costa Azul Hotel and found the staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the small but adequate swimming pool. The evening meal was a bargain at 9 Eu's with a good selection of food for everyones taste. Bedroom a little cold this time of year and feel central heating should have been on.
Refreshing and revitalising
Hotel was clean. Food was very tasty, fresh and the chef cooked meat in dining room for you to see. Lots of food as it was self service. Rooms clean. Lovely view, but can be noisy from traffic, although this didn't spoil our stay.
Had a really great week-end here, would like to spend more time at this hotel. Rooms were large and airy, bathroom spotless. Only had bed and breakfast, if dinner is as good as breakfast no problems.
Had a lovely time here
Have just spent 3 Days at Costa Azul based on reviews and was not dissapointed.Reception, dining room and bar are all very nicely presented, staff were pleasant and yes,the rooms weren't immaculate, but certainly not unbearable, large, clean and have all you'll need.Wonderful views, there is noise from the road below but that can't be helped,it doesn't stop you sleeping. Will definately go back one day.
Having booked this hotel purely on the reviews written on your site,we would like to say that we found the reception staff very rude and surly not at all helpful or friendly, the room was very basic and in need of some tlc and it was like trying to sleep in the middle of a motorway, the only good thing was the view which was fantastic, would not stay there again.
My Favourite hotel in the world!!!
There is nothing I don't like about this hotel. The rooms are clean & comfortable. The view is second to none. The location is perfect. The staff are really nice and go out of their way to be helpful. The bar is very nice & relaxed, and the food is good. Been going to this hotel every January for years, and we wouldn't want to stay any where else in Palma.
