... to climb the fort. The girls had to drag themselves uphill after receiving some words of encouragement. With grit and with thought of glory, we reached the top of the fort. That spectacular view from the top was heavenly. For a moment, the pain was forgotten, and all the effort seemed worthwhile!

We realised that it took us about 45 mins to reach the top even when we did it at a reasonable pace. Once again, incorrect information was worth noting… ha! After ...

... enjoyable sites; an incredible Jain temple built entirely from marble (as Jain religion doesn’t believe in harming any living things and insects could live and die in holes in concrete); a massive cow shed in the middle of the city, where the cows were so well treated they even got given desserts; and a cycle down marine drive, where the novelty of cycling a child’s bike with no functioning brakes was beginning to wear off.

... Occasionally they sang English songs that we knew too & yesterday the original director of the charity (who we call Uncle) preached in Marathi and English so we could understand him! We had a few very early starts. Twice we were making food at 6am so we could leave it outside all day to bake in the sun. We made kurdei from wheat and papd from rice flour. well yesterday wrote about d beautiful and amazing sunset at lion head's in lonavla which is enroute to amby valley city from bhushi dam...

today i wish to share d experience on my visit to Karla Caves...its around 11 kms from lonavla...

Karla caves are basically Buddhist Caves and they wer built in the 2nd or 3rd Centuary B.C....they have been declared a National heritage....
