    We're finally on the boat!!! The Grand Circle Aria. Our rooms, I mean cabins, are small but very efficient. We get our bags; unpack; get the safety briefing. They tell us what we're doing tomorrow, Then finally dinner. The dining room is wonderful and of course so is the wait staff. We'll take pictures of the boat tomorrow. ...

    ... to pick up speed. Lunch, you will not be surprised to hear, was on the agenda. We stopped at the first sign of food and were delighted to find a large shady terrace overlooking a reservoir.     ... capitals. The castle is built on three hills with a great views overlooking the Yantra River.
    They call Bulgaria the Boiling Point of Europe because of it's strategic location and the fact that so many nations wanted a piece of it. Romania could claim the same thing. My greatest impression, as we continue to journey north, is the resilience of the people and their determination to put the past behind them.
    We could all learn from that.

    ... One interesting thing we learned while in Sozopol is that the Black Sea, which looks so innocent, can become very dangerous very quickly. While we didn't swim at the beaches (too much green stuff in the water for our liking) apparently quite suddenly strong currents and waves can come in and these regularly result in a number of drownings.
