    ... asked for a fan and the front desk girl said they do not supply them. But then a few minutes later, a fan was brought to our room. She had friend bring hers from home for us, very attentive.

    I was bushed and took a 2 hour nap. We had lunch in our rooms, salami, ripe red tomatoes and bread.

    We walked over to the Provit supermarket and bought a few supplies. It is a good store but, sadly, has no deli.

    ... told that Bulgaria is receiving money from the European Union. They seem a bit better off compared to what we saw in Romania. The houses seem to be in better repair and cared for, less trash around. Its been 24 years without communism but still a long road for the people.
