    ... the royal palace, to enjoy it’s beauty one more time. I am starting to feel pretty tired now, so I do pause in a classy little park to sit down and close my eyes for a few minutes… I continue on past the palace, reminiscing on my first exploration of Madrid. Now I just wish the sun would come up quicker so I could take some decent photos, but thanks to daylight savings time, that’s not going to happen for a while. I continue on downhill to see ...

    ... and shared some lovely snacks to fortify ourselves for the journey home and the getting ready for a gathering with all the young people from Holland, Spain and London, what a huge bunch of bright and fun young people they are---Seems funny how they are the "young people" and all are getting close to or have achieved 40!     ... here well into the 90's. Although sun is preferable to rain, it presents its own challenges.
    On the Camino we came across a fruit stand that someone stocks and leaves it on the honor system. Take what you want and deposit the euros in a metal box. We also came upon a young family with a 3 year old in tow. I cannot imagine the difficulties involved given the challenges that the Camino presents.

    We arrived in a gorgeous little anchorage just round the corner from Laredo, in the river that stretches down to Colindres. We had hoped we'd be able to borrow one of the nearby yacht club's mooring buoy's, but only five minutes after we'd put ourselves on it a curmudgeonly man in a dory with a dog appeared to demand money in fast Spanish.
