    ... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
    Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

    Today we caught the ferry from Lezzeno to Varenna. We made our way to the ferry stop where a gorgeous old lady unlocked the gate as the ferry was approaching. We paid for our ticket on board which cost 17 euros for the three of us. The boat was full of elderly Australians who had come from Como.
