It's on in Busan

... I'll be walking through the haunted house this year with little children clinging to my legs and body.

We have been working on our play and I have found some good ways to reduce the difficulty of directing little children. I work in small groups with each actor and actress. They can focus well in this setting. Today we did part one in the gym and some can do it with out their scripts. It is not uncommon to hear Max as Bilbo say to Herry who is Gandalf "Gandlaf my old friend ...

Welcome to the Roach Motel

After a late start I packed up my rucksack and headed to Seoul station to catch a train to Busan, about 3 hours away by high speed train, in the East of the country. The journey was lovels as the views out of the window showed green covered mountains and lush agricultural fields, dotted with little villages and towns... and then I reached Busan and the stunning views stopped. Busan is the second largest city in Korean after Seoul, but by also being the 5th largest container ...

Christmas and the Staff Party 2008

... Rebecca, and after the expected waiting time, we had Chinese food at a famous restaurant.

Afterwords, I tried to get some shopping in. Since I'll be home in a few weeks, I wanted to pick up Christmas presents... By the time we found a restaurant, waited, then ate--the stores were closing already. I found a few things, but decided to go back on Saturday to finish. Which I did!

NOW, it's the weekend! AGAIN! It seems like it's always Friday...which isn't a bad thing I guess. If it were going to always be a day, I wouldn't mind it being Friday. I get to be productive at work, and then stay up as late as I want because there's no work the following day...sigh....

Anyway! So, maybe next time I write will be from home! I'm a little bit nervous. I heard going home can ...

It was a gift from her! Kim says she normally sells it for about 40,000 Won... So...I mean, I suppose if a monk gives you something, you take them at their word...I'll let you know how it goes...

... not be ugly. And come on, the Korean standard of ugly is bizarre sometimes!! I was told that Korean women like men with small heads.... What does that mean??? They're all just so ******* themselves. When I tried to take pictures today, half the girls covered their faces! I know we all have our moments, but when I asked why, their friends (who didn't cover their faces) were quick to tell me it was because they're ugly. To what ...

... or US dollars, as we had no yen left. We needed to pay about 8Euros each for the fuel surcharge. We were really worried about this as anywhere we went in Japan they didn't take credit car, its hard to believe as they spend so much money here but its mainly a cash society. So we weren't confident that they would take mastercard and we would be stuck again. Well, as luck would have it there was a money exchange at the port. (O! as ...

... was little more than an urban myth. On the contrary, their love of dogs as pets (especially little ones that you can carry in your handbag, put a bow in their ears and dye the tip of their tail pink) completely contradicted any talk of them actually being eaten. However, there was a market noted in our guide book for selling dog meat and we felt before forming any opinions on this we should see it with our own eyes. After a very long tube ride we found the ...
