As you may have noticed we have had some amazing meals here. We had another highlight today. We stopped for lunch at a little roadside outdoor restaurant, run by an elderly lady and her daughter-in-law. It serves only crÍpes. You get to see her make the crÍpes and cook them over an outdoor fire. Fantastic! See pictures ...

Another 5 hours of driving brought us to the Turkish coast and the city of Anatolya. We had to go over the Taurus Mountain range, which looks surprisingly similar to heading to Squaw - lots of rocks and fir trees. The only difference was that every now and then we would see tents with herders and their goats. Other than that, the highway was quite well built and maintained.

Çireli This is our unplanned trip. Since the hotel guy turned us down we decided to stay just two days in Kas. That is how we ended up in this small town called Çireli. We took a bus from Kas's otogar to Antalya. There were not direct buses there. We were dropped in the highway and waited for a minibus. We drove into a dirt road between two mountains. Today we travelled from Antalya to Olympos to stay in the tree houses where sail starts tomorrow. We just relaxed and went to the beach here. On departure from Oludeniz at sunrise, on David's 70th birthday, the town was deserted, maybe nursing sore heads from a night in the bars with Turkish measures. It was so peaceful that you could even here the waves lapping the shoreline and the water rumbling the pebbles on the way back out. As we climbed out of the valley, the sky was magnificent over the mountains. An array of yellows, pinks and reds with a bright orbe in the centre lit our way to Olympos.The town.... if ...
