So we were here a little ahead of schedule due to our experience in Bratislava, thankfully everything improved here and we were happy to stay the 2 nights we planned.

Gyor was only ever a stop over destination and we visited the city centre today before we head off to Budapest tomorrow.

... Mozart gave a concert there aged six years. One shop window had a collection of Gustav Klimt porcelain, beautiful, and another shop selling the most beautiful amber jewellery. ... Napolionic era, through the 1800's 1900's through to modern times. Rooms were set up with furnishings from families including the most wonderful furniture all inlaid and polished ,cabinets filled with porcelain from Asia and of course Hendred porcelain from Hungary. In one of the rooms was an upright grand piano, very ornate of course but we had never seen one of those before.
