... mine haha. We checked out downstairs with cool hippie-German clerk and then set out on a search for churros con chocolate. Yes, you read that right. What an amazing combination! I know! You are served a heaping plate of churros and a mug full of thick chocolate, used for dipping. Oh and sugar too, of course ;). Unfortunately, the churros weren't very impressive. I'd say they get better the farther north you go in Andalucia. The rest of the morning ...
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain vneagThis is by far the most beautiful city I have visited in Spain! Ronda is where the first bullfight took place and is home to the oldest bullring in Spain. The other students and I started out the day listening to one of our professors give a speech about the history of bullfighting, very interesting but after three hours I was ready to see Ronda. We then went to the bullring and had the opportunity to go inside where the fights take place. It was a feeling like no ...
Ronda, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands aperiseeWe got up really early (for us vacationers). It was about 8:15am. We decided we would drive 2 hours to a city called Jerez de la Frontera to see the famous dancing horses of Jerez. The tour guide said it was worth the drive... We arrived to another city. Not as big as Seville, but a city nonetheless. Shae was super excited to see the dancing horses. The show started at noon and lasted 1.5 hours. Shae lasted about 20 minutes - which was pretty good for her ...
Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain stacicheck... Benalauria. The restaurant was an old converted olive mill. It was very cool inside and had 3 levels and an outside terrace for dining. We started off outdoors, but the bee's were scaring us so we moved indoors and sat next to a woman who was in her late 70's holding court with her 3 friends. She spoke 7 languages and was really interesting to talk to. It was nice meal. Again, great salads! We headed back to town and decided to eat in and pack up our things ...
Montejaque, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands stacicheck... He loved it! Shae and I did a hike which was beautiful. These mountains are massive. We saw a couple of riders and thought of Bob. I'm sure the Spaniards train here for the tour. They are so steep and it's crazy climbing. Bob would have loved it! We drove around the area and then headed back to a town called Olvera where mike saw another great shot he wanted to take, but unfortunately we arrived after magic time so ...
Grazalema, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands stacicheckYesterday (Saturday) I went to Ronda with the group that I am with in Malaga. It was really cool. Even though I am not a big fan of the group tours, it wasn't that bad. The tour guide was older and I could understand most of what he was saying and we visited some pretty neat places. There is a really large canyon that divides the town into two, and that is just really spectacular. It wasn't what I was expecting, but that isn't a bad thing ...
Ronda, Andalusia, Spain skivail89Finally moved on from Seville. A hard place to leave. Today was another train, cycle, boat day. Had a really surreal conversation on the trainchatting to and old country woman who sat down next to me and the bike. She had the hardest to understand ...
Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands charity_cycle... carnaval naar hier kwamen.
Cádiz, Spain verow... small and we walked around its coastal borders in a couple of hours. It's very pretty and includes a beach, but there's really no standout feature to talk about. I will mention that the gardens are worth seeing as they include plants and trees from every part of the world you can think of. I'd rate them the best kept gardens we've seen so far. Cadiz is supposedly known for its ...
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands ditchthecube... not just a wooden box--and on top of it was a giant...saint?? White robes with a golden veil... I couldn´t see the face of it because it had already passed my window.... had I looked out not two minutes earlier, I would´ve had a giant head peering through my balcony! And the music....no instruments, but a drum and maybe a tamberine....but it was full of minor chords....kind of sad and eerie....for ...
