Cortijo Chico Hotel-Restaurante Málaga

After days at sea we had a short stop in Malaga before docking the next day back in Savona. I have decided that I am not crazy about the days at sea. Even though I really enjoyed all the ports, I don't think I would do anther big curise. The fact that there were only small number of people who spoke enlgish on the ship was interesting. So wanted to speak another language .. any lanaugage. Even when I told the Germans I did nto speak Germann they kept talking!

... on to me when I was leaning against a wall. Wasn´t happy that Mark wasn´t around to get a pic though! grrr!! I Want One! Plus I miss my babies, Harvey and Biscuit...

Anyway, the trip was a really good breath of fresh air, in comparison to the hustle and bustle of lots of the parts of Europe we have visited recently.

... feel like it was early October like its been like. The leaves are still all green on the trees though. It's still hard to believe that it's almost December. It's still really warm, I can't wear a jacket, but the decorations remind me that Christmas is right around the corner. The decorations get more awesome each day. Malaga is the major city near Frigiliana (where the train dropped us off). We spent a day there when we picked up Jaime and Rob at the train station. Some highlights:

... the train was ready to begin its journey, the small TV turned on and a safety film was shown, after all, we were going to be traveling at almost 200 miles per hour! We instead went to a museum, to a bar where everyone drank wine except for me and ate scary fishy food except for me, and to all kinds of places in the village, that I am sure I would have liked more or less if it wouldn't be with a group of Russian people only talking Russian, having soaked up some nature beforehand and for less money. ... into town, which even for a New Yorker used to walking everywhere, was far. After a while, Joe wanted to find an Irish Bar for the pure reason of meeting an owner and talking about what business was like, etc (honestly!!!). I got tired of playing translator, so I let Joe do some talking when it came to finding directions. Actually, I tried to ask a man, woman and their child directions and the man rushed his famliy away from us, like if Joe and I were gypsies ...

... to the amazing bar that served more shots than I knew existed for only €0.90 a shot! Shots were bought for all, and I had absinthe and Ron Miel again (yum) before heading back to the hostel around 5 am or so. We made a quite a group- the American girl and the guys hailing from Sweden, New Zealand, Japan, Germany and France. Ali, Kevan, Kiyo and I sat down for a few drinks back at the hostel but I was exhausted and went to bed. I'm seeing my Dad and stepmom tomorrow!

... and the port and the sea stretching for miles. You can walk along the castle walls and take it all in. That was Malaga in a nutshell. On Saturday I joined CLM for another group tour.
