... Palace in Vienna, this palace was of the same style and overwhelming opulence. Seeing just the former royal family's rooms took nearly two hours- it seems each member had a bedroom with ten adjacent sitting rooms. Out the door and in the car we were at 9am for another day-trip out of Munich, this time along the alpine road to Berchtesgaden at Germany's southernmost tip. The folklore surrounding Berchtesgaden is this: when God was building the world, he gave angels the task of distributing all the beautiful natural wonders. ... out in the good weather, segway tours, bike riders and tourists. Lots of boating going on too. Headed back, looking for somewhere for dinner when we spotted a restaurant called "Kakadus"! Had to check it out and found they had a menu of dishes all with Australian names - can't imagine why! Decided to try it and not long after an Indian gentleman sat at the adjoining table ...

... at a small bar down the road, there aren't many places open late in Munich unfortunately, at least not near where we were.

It is unfortunate I didn't get much time to spend in Munich and to see the concentration camp nearby, but seeing as my flight home leaves from there I will hopefully get another chance to see some more. So ends our Northern loop adventures and it was time to head South to the

After completing 2 days of Oktoberfest, we thought that for day 3 we should get cultured and take in the city sights. We did a sandeman walking tour which is a free tour, the guide only gets paid in tips from his punters. Everyone had talked up Munich's charm and it did not disappoint.
